Fast Fashion Perpetuates Poverty for Many Families

Editor's Note

We tend to view poverty as an issue of “them” instead of “us”. Those in poverty are seen as strangers to mainstream America. The artists spotlighted in this month’s issue push past boundaries and have those difficult conversations about what needs to still change in our society. They first-hand experienced the housing crisis, poverty, and other economic struggles for years. They met the enemy and they are us. The artists want to alleviate poverty and bring awareness to an issue that is invisible to most people.
