• “I’ve always been immersed in the world of art since my mother was a painter, and my father was an architect and sculptor. My attraction to textiles is probably a legacy of my grandparents and great-grandparents, [who worked as] tailors. I think I combine all of these influences by blending ideas of space, sculpture, decoration and textiles together.”
A waterfall of textile rainbows, an exquisitely sewn installation of red flowers, and a small cotton house flapping above a fan: Emilie Faif's installations bring the lovable mystery of childhood back into our lives. What mystery? Her sculptures are almost always abstract figures, which can be recognised but only to a point. Emilie Faif leaves the conclusion open to the individual.
